Sapa acquires Slovakian profiles company

Sapa continues to expand in Eastern Europe by acquiring the Slovakian aluminium profiles company Alufinal.
The company, which is located in Žiar nad Hronom, holds a strong position in the Slovakian and Czech markets with annual sales of EUR 35 million and 300 employees. Production resources comprise three presses with a capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes. The company also has its own building system and resources for surface treatment and processing.
Eastern Europe is an important market for Sapa. Consequently, Alufinal is strategically attractive, located close to markets with strong growth, while also close to the major established markets in Central Europe.

Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria are examples of countries with attractive business potential, among others within the transport and construction industries. "Overall, the acquisition also reinforces our position as one of Europe´s leading suppliers of aluminium profiles," he continues.
The acquisition of Alufinal, which is subject to approval by relevant competition authorities, is expected to be concluded during the autumn.
